Jonathan Schneck is a guitarist, banjo player, and bell player for the Christian rock band Relient K, and he is the most recent to join. He joined the band in January 2005, shortly after the release of their fourth full-length album Mmhmm. Schneck is the band's youngest member. He was a touring guitarist for Christian rock band Audio Adrenaline (where he was affectionately referred to as "Frodo") before he joined Relient K.
In Relient K, Jon lends his talents in all areas needed to help the band have greater sounds. Normally Jon plays backup guitar to Matt Hoopes, but he also plays banjo, bells, and sometimes mandolin. He does some backing vocals as well. He also created nine podcasts for Relient K throughout their Matt Hoopes Birthday Tour. The podcasts featured him interviewing the other members of Relient K, their guitar techs, and other bands that were on tour with Relient K. He is now making video podcasts of the band in the recording studio, while they make their fifth full-length album, Five Score and Seven Years Ago. It is because of him that Relient K fans have created the phrase, "What the Schneck?". Schneck is also a fan of many movies, one of his favorites being Ghostbusters. It is rumored that Jon recently appeared in one of the "Bible Man" videos, though this has not yet been officially confirmed by the band.
Schneck currently lives in Nashville, Tennessee with his wife, Lindsay, and two dogs, Scooter and Sadie.
