Jonathan William Lipnicki (born October 22, 1990) is an American actor. He is perhaps best known for his roles in the film Jerry Maguire, Stuart Little and Like Mike.

[edit] Early life

Lipnicki was born in Westlake Village, California of Jewish heritage. His father's family is originally from Pietrokov, Poland and his father, Joseph Lipnicki, was born in a refugee camp in Germany, but grew up in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He immigrated to the United States in the 1960s, in response to the events involving the Front de libération du Québec, and met Lipnicki's mother, Rhonda Rosen, in California.[1] Lipnicki has an older sister, Alexis Gabrielle. He began attending acting classes at an early age, and both he and his sister appeared in television commercials.

Lipnicki made his film debut in 1996's Jerry Maguire, playing Ray Boyd, the son of Renée Zellweger's character. This is a role he has become remembered for. He subsequently appeared on The Jeff Foxworthy Show, as well as episodes of Dawson's Creek. In 1999, he starred in the film Stuart Little, playing a boy whose family adopts a talking mouse, a role he reprised in the film's 2002 sequel. Lipnicki also played the lead role in the 2000 film, The Little Vampire, and starred opposite Bow Wow in 2002's Like Mike, which was released two weeks before Stuart Little 2; both of the films did relatively well in theatres, and Lipnicki has become known among pre-teen audiences, although he has not appeared in a widely released film since, focusing mostly on independent films. Lipnicki also appears in the season preview of Jamie Kennedy's Blowin' Up.

Lipnicki is known for his contributions to charity, having appeared and/or spoken at events for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Starlight Children's Foundation and NBA's Read to Achieve. He is also the international spokesperson for Pediatric Chiropractic and Kids Day American/International. He was named one of "the heroes of 2001" by JDRF for his involvement. Lipnicki, who has four dogs, is also involved in animal's rights groups, including Pets & Their Stars and the Nuts for Mutts.

Lipnicki currently attends Agoura High School in California, and plays water polo for his school team. He is a keen drummer, and member of the former bands Thanx Mr and Warfrog.
