Jonathan Denis (born in 1975) is a lawyer at Chipeur Advocates (www.chipeur.com) in Calgary, AB. Denis is also a founding partner of the political consulting firm 3D Contact Inc. (the other being Conservative MP Pierre Poilievre).
Denis has contributed articles to many newspapers, typically with a conservative bent. Denis gained notoriety in 2004 for assisting Kasra Nejatian in filing a complaint with Elections Canada about filmmaker Michael Moore for allegedly breaching the Canada Elections Act by publicly urging Canadians not to vote for Stephen Harper, the current Prime Minister. Although the Commissioner of the Canada Elections Act unilaterally refused to investigate the complaint, Moore did not make any similar comments in Canada during the next election, held in January 2006.
In 2006, Denis represented former Desnethe-Missinippi-Churchill River MP Jeremy Harrison in a recount where Harrison lost by 73 votes.
