Jonathan Bernier

Jonathan Bernier (born August 7, 1988 in Laval, Quebec) is an ice hockey goaltender with the Lewiston MAINEiacs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. He was drafted in the first round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, 11th overall, by the Los Angeles Kings. For trivia purpose, he was born on the same birthdate as Sidney Crosby.
Jonathan is the younger brother of Marc-André Bernier, a draft choice of the Vancouver Canucks who now plays with the East Coast Hockey League's Victoria Salmon Kings. He is also the cousin of San José Sharks forward Steve Bernier.
Jonathan represented Canada at the 2006 World Under-18s in April, which were held in Sweden. Either he or Montreal Canadiens prospect Carey Price is expected to be the go-to goalie for the 2007 Canadian World Junior team, filling the void left by Justin Pogge.
