From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jon Rowley developed a fresh-fish fishery for the king and sockeye salmon run of the Copper River of Alaska. Previously the salmon had only been canned. The mid-May return of the Copper River King salmon is now eagerly awaited in Seattle and other markets in America.
Rowley also started the Pacific Coast Oyster Wine Competition, an annual event. This blind tasting of wines by wine professionals discovers and honors oyster-friendly wines from the west coast of the United States and Canada.
Rowley is a resident of Seattle, Washington.
