Jon Beare

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jon Beare (born May 10, 1974 in London, Ontario) is a Canadian rower. He started rowing in 1988 and is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario. He has won three silver medals on the world cup circuit: in 2003 and 2004 in lightweight fours (both in Lucerne, Switzerland) and in 2001 in the pairs event (in Princeton, New Jersey). Beare's career has been largely a history of disappointment characterised by a persistent "also ran" monniker. At 31 years of age, Beare likely has only one more chance to attain the Olympic goal that has so far eluded him.
