[edit] Biography
Revan, in his quest with Bastila Shan to rediscover the Rakata Star Maps and stop Darth Malak, finds the old Jedi in the Shadowlands of the planet Kashyyyk. After helping Jolee scare off Czerka Corporation hunters, he joins Revan's party.
After long conversations with him, Revan discovers that Jolee was a Padawan during the Great Sith War. Unlike most of his fellow Jedi, Bindo was able to see the "grey areas" in morality, and engaged in many activities frowned upon by the Order (such as smuggling) in order to help the less fortunate. His ship was shot down during a smuggling run by a Force-sensitive woman, Nayama. Bindo fell in love with Nayama, and during his escape, convinced her to come with him and learn the ways of the Force. He taught her against the will of the Jedi Council, and eventually married (which also went strongly against the Jedi Code.)
During the Great Sith War, Bindo and Nayama met Nomi Sunrider and became good friends, fighting in many battles together. Their love was short-lived, however, spoiling after Nayama fell to the dark side, lured by Sith Lord Exar Kun. She attempted to convert Bindo, and tried to kill him after he refused. Bindo won the duel, but could not bring himself to kill her. She later went on to kill many Jedi during the war before she, herself, was killed. Bindo would never fully recover from the betrayal.
Following the war, the Jedi Council decided that Bindo had "learned wisdom the hard way" and planned to promote him to full Jedi Knight status. Jolee, however, felt that the Order had let him down, rejected his promotion, and left to wander space. However, his ship malfunctioned over the planet Kashyyyk and he crash landed on the planet's surface. There, he lived as a hermit (occasionally protecting the lost Wookiee youngling and experimenting with a Star Map) until discovered by the reformed Revan.
It is unknown what became of Jolee after the end of Knights of the Old Republic, although there are several references to him in KotOR 2, mostly in items. His history is also used as a brief comic relief. During of the Jedi Exile's conversations with the last Handmaiden, the player has the option to respond to a question about whether or not Jedi have ever had relationships, to which you can respond with "I believe that's called 'pulling a Bindo'".
