Jokshan
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jokshan is the second son of Abraham and Keturah, mentioned in the Hebrew Bible's Book of Genesis 25:2. His name means "an offense", "hardness", or "a knocking". He is thought to have peopled part of Arabia, and to be the person whom the Arabians called Cahtan, and acknowledged as the head of their nation.
Jokshan dwelt in part of Arabia Felix and part of the Arabian Desert. Moses expressly mentions this in Genesis 25:6.
Jokshan became the father of Sheba and Dedan, who dwelt in the same country. When Dedan grew up, he had three sons named Asshurim, Letushim, and Leummim.
