Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, Pakistan

In March 1976, the Government of Pakistan adopted the recommendations of the White Paper on Higher Defence Reorganization. A formal committee was established, the membership of which comprised the three service chiefs and the Secretary of the Defence Ministry.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee was to be headed by a four star officer (a full (four star) General or equivalent).
