[edit] Recent Merge - Proposed Demerge
This article has apparantly recently been merged with the comment completed merge unopposed since 2/06. Can somebody point me at at the unopposed merger proposal, which I would have expected to be here but isn't.
I have reservations about this merger. At least one John Lewis department store (John Lewis Reading) has a substantive WP article, and that isn't even cross-referenced here. To have some (even one) substantive article, and then a merged page of stuff on other stores, seems lop-sided to me. It would seem better to have stubs for each of these stores, and another article (eg. John Lewis Partnership) listing them.
So my proposal is to split these out. Comments. -- Chris j wood 12:30, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] An alternative
I'm in 3 minds about how to proceed - the options I cn think of are:
- demerge as per above
- rename to List of John Lewis Branches (or similar) as the current title doesn't really reflect the nature of the article, add sections on all other branches
- a half-way option: rename, but reduce info drastically (perhaps even to a table) and link to individual pages where appropriate
Renaming would also give us the option to move some of the Department Store-specific content from John Lewis Partnership.Davidprior 12:38, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not sure which is the best option, but as it stands this article is largely pointless, apart from providing some details on a small number of John Lewis branches (far more of which are listed at John Lewis Partnership). Cordless Larry 20:17, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
