Johnny Exantus (born November 24, 1989 in Haïti) is a soccer player who currently plays for Red Bull New York's Under-17 team in the United Soccer Leagues' Super Y-League.
He is known in American soccer circles as Johnny X and received national publicity during the 2006 preseason because although he has played in the club's youth system (as the MetroStars), he would be subject to the MLS SuperDraft if he signed with Major League Soccer. [1] It is possible MLS will modify its discovery and developmental rules to allow teams to develop players such as Exantus through their youth programs.
He scored the game-winning goal in overtime in the 2005 Super Y-League championship. The Haïtian-born Exantus has experience with the Haïtian Under-17 national team, scoring two goals on his debut at the age of 14 and leading Haïti in goals in FIFA U-17 World Championship qualifying.
