John the Silent

John the Silent (452 – 558) is a Christian saint.

He was born in Nicopolis and after the death of his parents in 471 founded a monastery. In 482 he was made Bishop of Taxara and left the office nine years later to become a recluse in the monastery of St. Sabas.

His feast day is May 13.
