Saint John the Dwarf (also called John Colobus) (c. 339 – c. 405) was one of the Desert Fathers of the early Christian church. Born in the town of Basta in Egypt, he moved to the desert of Sketis where he became a disciple of Saint Poemen. He lived a life of austerity and taught several other monks his way of life, among them Arsenius the Great.
