John "Jay" Traynor

John "Jay" Traynor (born November 2, 1941 in Albany, New York) was the original lead singer of the band Jay and the Americans. He sang lead on the group's first hit, "She Cried". David Blatt became the second and better-known "Jay" when he agreed to perform under the stage name Jay Black.
