John W. Allen

John William Allen (August, 1802 – October 5, 1887) was a lawyer and politician from Ohio.
Born in Litchfield, Connecticut, he moved to Cleveland, Ohio in 1825. He served in the Ohio State Senate in 1836 and 1837. He was elected as a Whig to the 25th and 26th United States Congresses representing the 15th District of Ohio, and served from 1837 – 1841.
He was the mayor of Cleveland from 1841 – 1842.
He is the son of U.S. Representative John Allen.
