John Turk is a model, bodybuilder, personal trainer, former Chicago police officer, and actor. He is well recognized in the video game world as the actor who portrayed various characters in Midway's Mortal Kombat series.
John has received a bachelor's degree from Illinois State University in physical education with a minor in nutrition. He has also competed in several bodybuilding contests holding such titles as Mr. Illinois. He is also a familiar face in the fitness industry and has appeared on the cover of such magazines as Muscle & Fitness, Physical and Planet Muscle.
In the Mortal Kombat video game series, John first portrayed characters Sub-Zero and Shang Tsung in Mortal Kombat 3. John also provided the voices of Vlad and Reptillor in an episode of the online animated videogame-spoofing series Press Start: Bonus Levels entitled "Poker, Mon."
He also appeared in two episodes of the television series Prison Break, "Riots, Drills and the Devil: Parts 1 & 2", where his character was named, appropriately enough, "Turk".
