John Bernard Tait (born January 26, 1975 in Phoenix, Arizona) is an offensive lineman for the Chicago Bears of the NFL. He is the starting left tackle for the Bears and is in the third year of his six year contract. He was originally selected with the 14th overall pick in the 1999 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs out of Brigham Young University and played for the Chiefs for five years. The Chicago Bears signed John to a 6 year contract following his career with the Kansas City Chiefs. In 2004 John was the second highest paid offensive lineman in the NFL making a stagerring $8,535,000 for the season. John resides with his wife Jenava Tait and daughter Vanessa in Mettawa, Illinois.

Tait lettered three times in football and twice in track and field at McClintock High School in Tempe, Arizona, earning all-state, all-region and all-city selection in football as both a junior and senior.
