John Rogers Anderson

John Rogers Anderson, CMM, CD, B.Sc (born 1941 in Trail, British Columbia) is a Canadian retired Admiral and civil servant.
In the early 1980s he commanded the Naval Officers' Training Centre, at CFB Esquimalt, BC, where he was nicknamed "JR" after a popular TV character of the time.
In 1993, Admiral Anderson became Chief of Defence Staff of the Canadian Forces.
In 1994, he was appointed Canada’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in Brussels, Belgium.
In 1989, he was made a Commander of the Order of Military Merit.
