John Rankin (born 27 June 1983 in Bellshill) is a Scottish professional footballer currently playing for Scottish Premier League club Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

Rankin, a central midfielder, began his career with Manchester United however he did not make first team appearances. He joined Ross County in 2003 and made 100 appearances for the Scottish First Division club before moving to Inverness for a reported fee of £65,000.
