John McKissick

John McKissick (September 25, 1926 in Greenwood, South Carolina) is the football coach of Summerville High School in Summerville, South Carolina. In 2004, he became the first American football coach in to win 500 career games. His 500th win came against Mount Pleasant Wando High School. He had already beaten Wando in 1993, to establish a national high school football record with 403 wins. As of 2006, he hasn't missed a game in 54 years. He has led Summerville to 10 state championships.
He has not only coached his sons, but also one of his grandsons. He was elected to the National High School Hall of Fame in 1990.
