John L. Kelley

John Leroy Kelley (December 6, 1916 – November 26, 1999) was an American mathematician at University of California, Berkeley who worked in general topology and functional analysis.
He was fired from Berkeley in 1950 for refusing to sign a loyalty oath, but rehired in 1953.
His book on general topology, which introduced Morse–Kelley set theory, has become a standard for graduate texts in mathematics.
