John J. Bennett, Jr.

John J. Bennett, Jr. (1894 - 1967) was the New York State Attorney General from November 4, 1930 to November 3, 1942, under Governors Franklin D. Roosevelt and Herbert H. Lehman.

Bennett, a native of Brooklyn, was a delegate to the New York constitutional convention in 1938. A Democrat, he ran unsuccessfully against Thomas Dewey for the Governorship in 1942.
