John Humphreys (Australia)

John Humphreys is an Australian economist and Adjunct Scholar of the Centre for Independent Studies. He was a founding member of the Australian Liberal Democratic Party and the Australian Libertarian Society [1] and is a significant personality in the Australian libertarian community.

His books include "Greening Farm Subsidies",[2] "Free Trade Agreements: Making them better" [3] and "Reform 30/30: Rebuilding Australia's tax and welfare system" [4].

He is studying for a PhD through part-time, long-distance learning at the University of New England.

Traces of ecstacy and heroin were found in his backpack in Cairns, Queensland airport, but a complete search found no actual drugs. [5]
