John W. Hickman, a.k.a. "Bill" Hickman[1], a banker and Republican, was elected to the Utah State House of Representatives for District 75 from 1993 to 2001. He was elected to the Utah State Senate from District 29 (Washington County) in 2001. He was re-elected in 2004 with 64% of the vote.

[1] "Wild Bill" Hickman was the name of a famous 19th century Utah law enforcement officer.
