John Hamilton Morgan

John Hamilton Morgan August 8, 1842 - August 14, 1894 Mormon official, educator, and politician.

Born in Indiana. He served as a sergeant in the Union Army during the Civil War.

Later he established Morgan's Commercial College in Salt Lake City. He joined the Mormon church. He rose quickly within the Mormon heiracrchy, becoming the president of the Southern States Mission, and later a member of the Quorum of the Seventy.

He was involved in Utah politics, and served a term as a representative to the Utah Territorial Legislature as a Republican in 1883.

He died in 1894.

One of his widows, Mary Ann Linton (Morgan) remarried to David King Udall.
