John Ferguson Sr. (born September 5, 1938 in Vancouver, British Columbia) is a former professional ice hockey player. He played as a left-wing for the Montreal Canadiens.

During his career, he won the Stanley Cup five times in the years 1965, 1966, 1968, 1969, and 1971.

In 1972, he became the assistant head coach and assistant general manager of the Canadian national men's hockey team who beat the Soviet team in the Summit Series. He later became the general manager of the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League, as well as the head coach of part of one season for that team.

His son John Ferguson, Jr. is currently the general manager for the Toronto Maple Leafs.

In September 2005, Ferguson was diagnosed with prostate cancer.
