From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

John F. Smith is a prolific and award winning American TV writer. Before Smith was fired from his co-head writer post on Y&R by its new head writer and executive producer, Lynn Marie Latham, both Alden and he were replaced by Bill Bell, the president of Bell Dramatic Serial Company and son of the late William J. Bell.

When Smith was co-EP and co-head writer, Y&R sunk to record lows to about 4.9 million viewers (Daytime TV ratings). He may be joining the writing or producing team of B&B.
