John F. Carr

John Francis Carr (born 1944) is a science fiction editor and writer. His novels were included the space operatic The Ophidian Conspiracy and co-wrote a novel set in the Paratime universe of H. Beam Piper.

He has been known primarily or solely as an editor since 1986. He is known for editing collections or series involving Libertarian science fiction and Military science fiction. He often works with Jerry Pournelle and might be best known for work done in connection with him. In 2002 the two were honored by the Prometheus Award for editing The Survival of Freedom.
