John Evans (August 19, 1877 — June 10, 1990) is the longest-lived man ever authenticated in the United Kingdom.
He had been a Welsh miner, and became the oldest man in the United Kingdom ever when he broke the record of England's John Mosely Turner, who was born June 15, 1856 and died March 21, 1968 at age 111 and 279 days. The record set by Mr. Evans, who died at 112 years and 295 days old, still stands.
John is also posthumously recognized as the world's oldest man from November 25, 1988 until his passing. Guinness did not officially establish the 'oldest living man' category until the year 2000.
