John Evan
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
John Evan (born March 28, 1948) played keyboards for Jethro Tull from 1970 to 1980. His original name was John Evans, but he changed his name when his first band, The Blades changed their name to The John Evan Band. Jeffrey Hammond apparently thought "The John Evan Band" sounded better than "The John Evans Band."
Evan left Jethro Tull in 1980, forming Tallis with fellow departing Tull member David Palmer. He currently operates a law firm, though he has in recent occasions appeared at and played onstage at Tull conventions.
He performed on the following albums:
- Benefit
- Aqualung
- Thick as a Brick
- Living in the Past
- A Passion Play
- War Child
- Minstrel in the Gallery
- Too Old to Rock 'n' Roll: Too Young to Die!
- Songs from the Wood
- Heavy Horses
- Bursting Out
- Stormwatch
