John Downes

There were two British John Downes in the 17th century:
- John Downes (regicide) was convicted of regicide of Charles I of England at the Restoration of Charles II.
- John Downes (17th-century prompter) worked with and kept records at the theatre companies during the Restoration period.
- John Downes (naval officer) (1786 – 1854) was an officer in the United States Navy.
- John Downs (broadcaster), a reporter and radio personality in Toronto, Canada.
