John Clement Favalora

Archbishop John Clement Favalora (born 1935) is the current Roman Catholic Archbishop of Miami. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on December 5, 1935.

He was ordained a priest on December 20, 1961 and served in the Diocese of New Orleans for nearly 25 years.

On July 19, 1985 he was appointed bishop of the Diocese of Alexandria He was ordained a bishop on July 29, 1985 by Pío Cardinal Laghi. He served there until his appointment as Bishop of St. Petersburg, Florida on March 14, 1989. His installation Mass was held on May 16, 1989.

On November 3, 1994, Pope John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Miami, Florida. He was installed on December 20, 1994.

He is also a member of the Board of Trustees at The Catholic University of America.
