John Case is the pseudonym of Jim and Carolyn Hougan, husband and wife, both published authors in their own right. Jim Hougan is also an award-winning investigative journalist and broadcaster. They live in Afton, Virginia.

Under the pseudonym, the Hougans have authored 6 novels: The Genesis Code, The First Horseman, The Syndrome (aka Trance State), The Eighth Day, The Murder Artist, and Ghost Dancer.
