John Carson (college president)

Dr. John L. Carson served as President of Erskine College and Theological Seminary from 1998-2005 and currently serves as an adjunct faculty member of the seminary.

Dr. Carson was born in Gastonia, NC. He graduated Erskine College and taught for a few years before earning a Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary of Jackson, Miss. After serving as pastor of Ebenezer Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church he earned a Doctor of Philosophydegree at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland. After serving as Professor of Theology and Church History at Erskine Theological Seminary from 1985-1994, he was the pastor at First Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in Gastonia, NC, before becoming President of Erskine College and Theological Seminary.

Dr. Carson is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society. Carson has served on boards and committees of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. He is co-editor of To Glorify and Enjoy God.
