John Buonavoglia (born October 19, 1975) is an Australian football (soccer) player. He currently plays as a striker for Sydney FC.

Buonavoglia signed for Sydney FC shortly after the mutual termination of defender Steve Laurie's contract. Prior to this, Buonavoglia made short-term contract appearances for the club, most notably in the Oceania FIFA Club World Championship qualifiers.

Following his first A-League start on October 30, 2005 against Newcastle Jets, Sydney FC were informed by the Football Federation Australia of a "mix up over his registration papers" [1] which prevented him from making another appearance. Bounovoglia however made an appearance in the FIFA Club World Championship 2005 in Japan. Bounovoglia was also a part of the Parramatta Power in the NSL.
