John Bernadou

John Baptiste Bernadou (18581908) was an officer in the United States Navy during the Spanish-American War.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Bernadou graduated from the Naval Academy in 1880. He was promoted ten numbers for gallantry in action while commanding Winslow at the Battle of Cárdenas, Cuba, on 11 May 1898.

Commander Bernadou died in New York.

The destroyer USS Bernadou (DD-153) was named for him.
