John Bedini

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

John Bedini of the Bedini Electronics company is an electrical engineer noted for the invention of the Bedini Audio Spectral Enhancer, an audio signal processor that was used to enhance stereophonic effects in various commercial recordings in the early and mid-1990s. Additionally, on his personal website, Bedini has self-published a number of articles related to experimental methods for generating and transmitting electrical energy.

Although Bedini claims there is "no Free Energy or Over Unity"[1], he is one of many engineers[2] who claim to have designed or co-designed[3][4] electrical systems and motors that do not adhere to the first or second laws of thermodynamics (which relate to conservation of energy). The possibility exists that they are tapping a new source of energy. Such inventions are generally considered to be impossible, [pseudoscience|pseudoscientific]] theoretical devices called "perpetual motion", "overunity", or "free energy" machines.

Bedini has filed patents for some of these devices[5] and claims to have publicly demonstrated them[6]. A number of individuals and groups also claim to have produced energizers based on his "School Girl Motor" design[7], although some reported observations contradict Bedini's theories[8]. To date, none of his overunity/free energy claims or reported demonstrations have been independently verified by reliable sources.

Bedini's claims relating to free energy, as well as some of his company's audio products (especially compact disc "clarifiers") have drawn criticism from audiophiles and even the popular skeptic James Randi. [9][10]
