John Bailey is a member of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council representing the Dún Laoghaire electoral area. He has been selected to contest the next next Irish general election as a Fine Gael candidate in Dún Laoghaire constituency.
Councillor Eugene Regan SC and former politician, Seán Barrett have also been selected as candidates.
Bailey has a background in the travel and tourism business and has been active in the GAA in Dublin.
John Bailey lives in Killiney, County Dublin with his wife Angela. They have five daughters, one of whom, Councillor Maria Bailey is also a member of Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council representing the Ballybrack electoral area.
He sits on a number of committees including the following:
