John Andrews

Dr John Andrews is the Senior Minister of Rotherham New Life Christian Centre, in South Yorkshire, England, taking up the post in September 1997. From September 2006, he also takes on the role Director of Training at Mattersey Hall and serves on the Senior Leadership Team. He is a passioante preacher who aims to inspire and equip the Church "to make God famous in their world".

Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 1966, John is married Dawn and together they have three children, Elaina, Simeon and Beth-Anne.

He is a graduate of the Assemblies of God Bible College, Mattersey Hall, where due to an administrative error he became its youngest student at the age of 17. After graduation he became minister of the Assemblies of God church in Havercroft, near Wakefield.

In 1998 he obtained a Master of Theology degree in Pentecostal and Charismatic Studies from the University of Sheffield.

In April 2003, John completed a Doctorate from the University of Wales. His Ph.D. thesis, titled 'The Regions Beyond', is a history of World Mission within the Assemblies of God in Great Britain and Ireland, from its formation in 1924 until 1945. Interviewing many of the pioneer missionaries and people influenced by them during this time of growth, John has recorded many of their stories for the first time. John has continued the theme of world missions in his book Mission is Like a Box of Chocolates.

As well has writing about world mission, John has travelled to many countries, including Slovakia, Sudan, and Malaysia, teaching and training church leaders. He is also a regular speaker at missions related conferences.
