Joe Novak (born April 19, 1945) is a college football coach. Novak has been the head coach at Northern Illinois, NIU, since December 1995. In the 2004 season, Novak led the Huskies to a 9-3 record, and their first bowl appearance in twenty-one years, winning the Silicon Valley Bowl over Troy State University.
He previously had assistant stints at the University of Illinois, Miami University, and Indiana University. Joe Novak played college football in the Mid-American Conference at Miami University. During the football season, Coach Novak appears on Inside Huskie Sports with host Brad Hoey.
