Joe Hockey

Joseph Benedict "Joe" Hockey (born 2 August 1965), Australian politician, has been a Liberal member of the Australian House of Representatives since March 1996, representing the Division of North Sydney, New South Wales. He was born in Sydney, New South Wales, and was educated at Sydney University. He was a banking and finance lawyer, and Director of Policy to the Premier of New South Wales, before entering politics.
Hockey was Minister for Financial Services and Regulation 1998-2001 and Minister for Small Business and Tourism 2001-04. He has been Minister for Human Services since October 2004. He has also been appointed Minister assisting the Minister for Workplace Relations[1] in August 2006 in a bid to improve its unpopular WorkChoices industrial relations legislation.
Hockey regularly appears on the Seven Network's morning program Sunrise.
