Joe Berton Germaine (born August 11, 1975 in Denver, Colorado) is a former college and professional American football quarterback, and currently a quarterback in the Arena Football League.

Germaine transferred to Ohio State University, from Scottsdale Community College in Arizona in 1996. In 1996 and 1997, Germaine was the backup to starting quarterback Stanley Jackson. Germaine’s finest moment in his years as a backup came at the 1997 Rose Bowl, the last game of the 1996 season. He led the Buckeyes in a 65-yard drive in 12 plays in the final 1:40 for the winning touchdown, a 5-yard touchdown pass to David Boston with 19 seconds left. Germaine passed for 131 yards in the game and was named the game’s MVP.
In his senior year, Germaine finally became the starter, as well as a team co-captain. That year he set 11 school records, throwing for 3,330 yards and 25 touchdowns. He was the Chicago Tribune Silver Football Award winner as the Big Ten Conference Most Valuable Player that year. Germaine threw for 6,370 yards and 56 touchdowns in three seasons.
Germaine was selected to the Ohio State Football All-Century Team in 2000.

Germaine was selected in the fourth round of the 1999 NFL draft by the St. Louis Rams. The St. Louis starter, Kurt Warner, took the Rams to Super Bowl XXXIV. Germaine appeared in only three games, completing nine passes, and was cut at the end of the season. He fought to maintain an NFL career, appearing in three games with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2001.
In 2004 Germaine became a quarterback for the Arizona Rattlers of the Arena Football League. There he was a back-up to quarterback Sherdrick Bonner. After two years with the Rattlers Germaine joined the Utah Blaze in 2006.
