Joe DeNardo

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Joe DeNardo was the chief meterologist at WTAE-TV in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was known for his school visits, where once a week, DeNardo would arrive via helicopter to visit students at an elementary school and present an assembly about the weather. Schools which DeNardo visited prepared for his visit elaborately, and clips of his visit would be shown during that evening's weather report. During the heyday of DeNardo, the phrase "Joe Said it Would" was used in commercials, and became a catchphrase used when people would discuss the weather. The phrase was a reference to the accuracy of DeNardo's weather reports.
