Joe Augustyn

Joe Augustyn is a screenwriter and film producer. Born in Philadelphia to a factory worker father and working mother, he attended Temple University. As a freshman he won a FOCUS Award for film studies. The only undergrad among eleven winners, he was flown to Los Angeles for the ceremonies. Two years later he moved to L.A. to attend AFI's Center For Advanced Film Studies as a producing-fellow. After producing two features he retired from producing to focus exclusively on screenwriting, completing assignments for such companies as Tristar and Propaganda. A life-long horror fan with interests in history, Eastern and obscure religions, shamanism, quantum physics, and the paranormal, he relocated back to Philadelphia in 2001. A member of the Horror Writers Association and an Associate Member of the WGA, he is currently working on his first novel, while continuing to work as a screenwriter. He is a motorcycle enthusiastic with a particular love for vintage European motorcycles, an avid gardener, and an artist specializing in oil and watercolor painting.
