Alexander John ("Jock") Sturrock MBE (born May 14, 1915) was an Australian yachtsman.
Jock Sturrock represented Australia in four Olympic Games between 1948 and 1960. At the age of 41 he won a Bronze Medal sailing in the 5.5 Metre Class at the 1956 Summer Olympic Games held in Melbourne, Australia.
In 1962 Australia challenged for the America's Cup. Sturrock skippered the Australian challenger Gretel but was beaten 4 races to 1. All though the results imply that Gretel was well beaten, that was not the case. Historically the challenging yacht never won a race in the series so when Gretel won there was high hopes that that Gretel had a realistic chance of winning the series and taking the America's Cup back to Australia. Unfortunately this was not to be.
In 1963 Jock Sturrock was awarded the Australian of the Year.
