Jobe Watson (born February 8, 1985) is an Australian rules footballer in the Australian Football League.
Watson, who is the son of former Essendon Football Club legend Tim Watson, was selected at pick no 40 under the father-son rule in the 2002 AFL Draft.
With big raps on the youngster when he arrived at Essendon due to his family links, soft tissue injuries interrupted his progression in both the 2003 and 2004 seasons, and his form did not improve during 2005.
Initially predicted to be a key forward at Essendon, the 191 cm Watson started 2006 with a leaner physique and stunned critics with an impressive claim on a permanent midfield position, so much so, that as of round 6, he is ranked the 15th most popular player in AFL Dream Teams. He capped off an impressive 2006 season with 2nd place in the Crichton Medal voting.
