João Gilberto Noll

João Gilberto Noll is a Brazilian writer, born on April 15, 1946 in Porto Alegre. He studied Litetature at UFRGS and PUC.
He has lived in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo for some years. Nowadays he lives in Porto Alegre.
He was invited to teach Brazilian literature at the University of California, Berkeley in 1997. He was also invited for a three-month writing residency at the Centre for the Study of Brazilian Culture & Society at King's College in 2004.
His literature debut happened in 1980 when O cego e a dançarina (English title: The blind man and the dancer), a book of tales, was released.
One of his tales, Alguma coisa urgentemente (English title: Something immediately), became a film under another title, Nunca fomos tão felizes (English title: We've never been so happy) in 1983.
