João Bernardo de Miranda

João Bernardo de Miranda was (born 18 July 1954 in the province of Bengo, Angola) is an Angolan politician and has been foreign minister of the country since January 1999.

de Miranda has academic degrees in journalism, law, and international relations.

He began his political career at a very young age by joining MPLA (Movimento Popular de Libertação de Angola) Angola's ruling party since its independence in 1975. He held various positions within the party mostly related to journalism, radio, and propaganda.
