You do realize that much of the material you have been posting to History of Puerto Rico is copyrighted from welcome.topuertorico.org/history.shtml? Unless you are the holder of the copyright for that material, I am going to list the page on Wikipedia:Copyright problems. older≠wiser 04:56, 8 Jun 2004 (UTC)
Also, the changes you are making to the article are a MAJOR rewrite -- you really shouldn't mark such edits as "minor". older≠wiser 05:05, 8 Jun 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Marking all edits minor
You have marked every single edit you have made to existing pages minor, when most have not been under the definition of minor edits. This is absolutely inappropriate. Please review Wikipedia:Minor edit if you do not understand the definition. Perhaps you have set your preferences to mark all edits minor. If so, you should change this before making further edits. --TreyHarris 04:19, 15 Jun 2004 (UTC)
- Sorry Trey, if you are refering to the Seattle Central Library edits, I am simply attempting to better space the images - I thought these where considered minor edits, and I had the option set a my default (which I did not notice).
- No, not just on the Seattle Central Library, but looking back over your contribution history, you've been marking every edit as minor because of your preferences. Adding a new image to a page is never minor, but you've marked new images as minor many times. I'm annoyed because I spent most of the evening color-balancing the photos I'd taken of the library in preparation for uploading them, and I didn't notice your additions because they were marked minor. Once I went to the page to add them, I discovered that they were now mostly redundant, and I spent the evening uselessly. --TreyHarris 04:41, 15 Jun 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Jose Campeche
How you doing Jmoliver? First of all I would like to thank you for adding Jose Campehche's picture to my article. It really looks great. I was reading your version of Jose de Diego and I liked it. I also liked mine. How about if I merge your best points with my best points in the article and we both can consider ourselves as co-authors? This way we'll put an end to the redirects, O.K? How did you become interested in Jose de Diego, anyway? Take care User:Marine 69-71

[edit] Image:Plaza de Armas.jpg
Hi, Jmoliver. I was reading San Juan and noticed that you uploaded Image:Plaza de Armas.jpg. It's a great photo, but there is no copyright information. Could you add that? It would be a shame for the picture to be deleted if it doesn't have to. Neutrality/talk 07:02, Dec 10, 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Article Licensing
Hi, I've started a drive to get users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to either (1) all U.S. state, county, and city articles or (2) all articles, using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) v1.0 and v2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to Wikipedia's license, the GFDL, but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles. Since you are among the top 2000 Wikipedians by edits, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles. Over 90% of people asked have agreed. For More Information:
- Multi-Licensing FAQ - Lots of questions answered
- Multi-Licensing Guide
- Free the Rambot Articles Project
To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" template into their user page, but there are other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
- Option 1
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
OR
- Option 2
- I agree to multi-license all my contributions to any U.S. state, county, or city article as described below:
- DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual
Or if you wanted to place your work into the public domain, you could replace "DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual" with "MultiLicensePD". If you only prefer using the GFDL, I would like to know that too. Please let me know what you think at my talk page. It's important to know either way so no one keeps asking. -- Ram-Man (comment| talk)
[edit] Parque Luis Munoz Rivera.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Parque Luis Munoz Rivera.jpg. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use gfdl if you release it under the GFDL, or fairuse if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Right now, I'll put it as unverified, but change it to what it's supposed to be when you get a chance. Thanks, Mattingly23 16:16, 18 Dec 2004 (UTC)
Also Image:Seattle Public Library1.jpg and, for all I know, Seattle Public Library2 - 6 and any other images you've uploaded. As with Mattingly23, get back to him or me if this is all a puzzle to you. --Tagishsimon (talk)

[edit] Unverified images
Hi! Thanks for uploading the following image:
- Image:Lares_flag.jpg
I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag. Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use gfdl if you release it under the GNU Free Documentation License, PD-self if you wish to release your own work to the public domain, fairuse if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know at my talk page where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Thanks so much. Peter O. (Talk, automation script) 21:25, Dec 25, 2004 (UTC)
P.S. You can help tag other images at User:Yann/Untagged_Images. Thanks again.

[edit] Help
I need your help. It seems that someone wants to delete my article on Carlos Lozada, one of four Puerto Ricans to have been awarded the Medal of Honor. You can help fight this injustice by voting against deletion here: VfD. Please participate. Your friend Tony the Marine 05:24, August 3, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:Caribe Hilton Hotel.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Caribe Hilton Hotel.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use gfdl to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use fairuse.) See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by going to "Your contributions" from your user page and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thanks so much. [edit] Image replaced and up for deletion
Hi, I've replaced the image Image:Lares flag.jpg, uploaded by you, with Image:Lares revolutionary flag.svg because SVG is a more suitable format for images with no photographic content. The original image has been listed for deletion—hope this is OK. –Mysid 07:20, 9 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:La Fortaleza Main Entrance.JPG
Thanks for uploading Image:La Fortaleza Main Entrance.JPG. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 14:52, 16 July 2006 (UTC)
