[edit] DOS/Windows/Mac OS X?

The original jive and valspeak programs are fragments of C printf and sprintf calls embedded in a lex file, so it should compile and run on any system that has a port of lex or Gnu flex, including all versions of DOS and Windows. It should compile and run natively under bash or another Unix shell under Mac OS X, which is BSD under the hood. If anyone has downloaded and successfully compiled and run on these platforms, please add them to the article, which currently is very conservative and only notes that it'll compile and run on Unix and Linux. --Tony SidawayTalk 14:00, 24 August 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Masters Of Deception

A program like the jive filter is featured prominently in the book "Masters of Deception: The Gang That Ruled Cyberspace" and was written by Bloodaxe aka Eric Goggans, although it may have been styled after that original one. 71.81.37.151 15:12, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
